Nuclear Waste Services is looking for a Enterprise Risk Manager to join our busy team flexible working from their office in Harwell, Oxfordshire.
This role will play a key role in supporting Enterprise Risk Managers with implementation and effective delivery of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework across the whole of Nuclear Waste Services (NWS), to ensure that risk management is used as an effective tool in supporting business decisions, in a consistent and effective manner. ERM considers all types of risks from operational activities to programme/project management and strategy delivery.
Liaising closely with functions, operations, programme and project delivery to ensure that all the elements of Risk, Issues and Opportunities are identified, understood, evaluated and managed.
Work closely with the NWS Enterprise Risk Managers to understand our NWS risk landscape, embed the ERM Framework and support the drive to improve our risk culture.
- Implement the NWS ERM Framework and support continuous improvement of the framework.
- Support all business functions, operations, programmes and project delivery in embedding risk management into their BAU activities.
- Understand and interpret risk data and intelligence and share good practice across the business.
Essential
- Familiar with applying risk management, audit or assurance controls and process regimes within a multi-faceted organisation.
- Understanding of tools and techniques in risk management, including practical implementation expertise.
- Ability to articulate and present the status of risk and mitigating strategies to stakeholders.
- Excellent Communication and influencing skills, along with the ability to flex personal style to engage and motivate others, and with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- High resilience and the diplomacy to deal with ambiguity and change.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, both face to face and in writing, including the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly.
Desirable
- Experienced professional with demonstrable expertise in Risk Management.
- Delivery and implementation of risk management tools and techniques.
- Professional qualification (achieved or working towards) in risk management (e.g IRM, MoR, Degree level qualification) direct experience in risk management.
- Recognised formal Project Management qualification (PMI, APMP, MSP, ITIL, Prince2, P30, MoR) or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the development and implementation of new policies, processes and solutions, including development of key performance indicators and reporting requirements.
- Experience of working with senior stakeholders up to Heads of Function level.
- A can-do attitude, delivery focus and ability to manage own workload, including time and deadline management.
