The role holder will work with key stakeholders across the business to ensure the finance transformation plan delivers new efficient processes & procedures; identifies short, medium and long-term improvements and sets the vison for the future of the finance function. This will require effective coordination of activities across the Finance teams, and links to activities in other parts of the overall transformation programme, including oversight of any risks and issues, and maintenance of overall transformation governance and reporting.
This is a project-focused & varied leadership role. Suitable for a qualified finance/accounting professional with solid finance acumen and ability to lead projects. Lots of planning & delivery on a variety of projects throughout the business with regular meetings with senior finance managers.
Leadership and Execution of Finance Transformation Initiatives including:
End-to-End Project Management:
- Direct projects from the idea phase through to implementation.
- Ensure changes are sustained and embedded into finance operations.
Project Planning:
- Follow, create and lead a proven project transformation plan and change methodology.
- Create planning schedules, balance resources, and manage risks and issues.
- Track progress and benefits against milestones.
- Provide regular progress reports and updates.
- Identify, report, and manage risks and changes around the transformation program using appropriate change control processes.
Collaboration with Leadership:
- Be the Workstream Lead for Finance Transformation.
- Work with the Finance Leadership team and the CFO to lead and communicate actions for transformation programmes, including timescales through to solution delivery
- Deliver a Finance transformation plan covering organization, processes, and technical harmonization.
- Collaborate with NWS Transformation leadership, other departments e.g. EPMO, HR, Commercial.
- Ensure compliant processes are maintained across delivery.
Continuous Improvement:
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve.
- Drive required efficiency and change within Finance delivery.
Essential
- Fully qualified accountant, CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent
- Extensive transactional & non transactional finance experience as well as experience leading process improvements and/or system implementations.
- Proven working background of supporting on large scale projects, understanding the intricacies of the project and acting as the financial touchstone
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Track record of leading and managing change in finance transformation programme
