Nuclear Waste Services is looking for a GDF Costing Lead to join our busy team in Harwell, Oxfordshire.
As a GDF Costing Lead you will support Programme Managers and Senior Leaders with the production of GDF costings as well as managing the forecasting of GDF Programme costs.
You will also support the development and implementation of cost modelling processes and procedures, training people in these required standards, and delivery against them.
Delivery
- Manage cost modelling activity and work with the programme to support identification of business case benefits and outcomes.
- Manage capability building and the use of best practice in cost modelling and reporting. Provide expert advice for team members and project community.
- Manage ongoing development of cost modelling tools and techniques for the GDF Programme.
Programme Planning
- Working with Project Managers to integrate project estimates into GDF near-term and whole lifecycle cost estimates, for the baseline scenario and scenario variants.
- Lead the development and implementation of cost breakdown structures.
- Assist Programme Managers in challenging and testing project assumptions to ensure that programme estimates are realistic and achievable.
- Co-operating with risk managers and risk analysts to estimate cost uncertainty and quantify the cost impacts of risk.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain internal and external networks to access technical and professional best practice.
Programme Performance & Controls
- Support Programme Managers to monitor and analyse information and highlight areas of risk and opportunity.
- Maintain up to date lifetime cost estimates for the GDF Programme and underpinning projects, support periodic performance and planning reviews.
Guidance & Support
- Provide advice on cost modelling processes throughout the lifecycle of the programme to wider RWM teams.
- Experience working in a rigorous programme controls environment.
- Experienced in providing cost modelling in a major project or programme.
- Degree or HND or equivalent in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Financial Modelling or another related field is advantageous.
- Membership or working towards membership of relevant professional body (e.g. Association of Cost Engineers - ACostE).
- Knowledge of cost estimation techniques and proficiency with cost modelling tools and MS Office.
- Detailed understanding of programme costing methodologies and techniques including risk & change management.
- Experience of report generation and ability to deliver to deadlines.
- Will be an excellent communicator - able to build strong working relationships and work collaboratively with wider stakeholders across all areas and levels of the organisation
- Have strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret and generate complex data with the skills to be able to communicate clearly to multiple stakeholders and different levels.
