We are looking to establish a Performance Data capability for the business, to sit alongside our performance improvement and product development teams, to bring new tools, techniques, and approaches into the business. As part of the transformation agenda, diverse work is ongoing to improve and optimise how we do work across the business; having a robust system in place to measure and monitor business performance through data is vitally important. Having, developing, and using performance data will help us target our improvement activities effectively, measure the impact of our transformational activities and make better decisions.
As a Performance Analyst, you will help us make sense of and develop insights from our performance data; working with stakeholders across the business to improve data and helping them to understand and respond to what that data tells us. You will play a leading part in helping us establish and mature performance analysis, and the use of performance data, across the Nuclear Waste Services business.
- Lead on performance analysis activities for the Transformation Programme; to enable the Programme to demonstrate benefit and efficiencies to Nuclear Waste Services and other stakeholders.
- Own and oversee delivery of the vision, strategic plan, working arrangements and programme of activities for performance data analysis for Nuclear Waste Services; to facilitate delivery of effective performance data analysis.
- Deliver performance data activities for more complex business areas (using tools to identify, analyse and trend performance data) against the programme of activities; to enable the business to use performance data in effective decision making.
- Monitor progress in performance in delivery areas relevant to the Transformation Programme, providing input and expertise to Transformation Programme governance structures as required and reporting on efficiencies generated from the Transformation Programme; to enable the Programme to demonstrate benefit and efficiencies to Nuclear Waste Services and other stakeholders.
- Ensure that data analysis outputs are prepared and presented to stakeholders to enable them to understand their team / functional / process performance and to make decisions based on the information and insights; to enable the business to use insights from data analysis in their decision making.
- Oversee and lead work engaging with the wider Nuclear Waste Services business to identify performance data improvement opportunities, propose methods / approaches to improve data and work with data owners to make these improvements happen; to ensure that the organisation consistently applies good practices.
- Develop and implement new tools and techniques to improve performance data analysis and insight presentation; to ensure that the organisation consistently applies good practices.
- Develop and nurture expertise in Nuclear Waste Services on performance data management. Develop educational initiatives with the workforce to increase the visibility of data management and to support increasing data quality, availability and usage. Advise and coach personnel across Nuclear Waste Services on performance data, to support increasing information availability and quality; to improve organisational competence and confidence in the use of performance data.
- Line management, coaching and development of a Performance Data Analyst; to help build and nurture the performance data capability.
- Deputise for the Head of Performance Improvement as required to support delivery of the performance improvement delivery area; to ensure that the team is appropriately represented at meetings and events.
- Act as part of the management team for the Performance Improvement Capability; to ensure that the wider team is effectively managed and nurtured.

Essential
- Proven high level of competence in data and information analysis.
- Relevant degree level, professional qualification or proven track record showing relevant experience. Suitable work experience in lieu of qualifications or alternative qualification pathways may be considered where appropriate.
- Proven leadership skills and capability, personal resilience, the ability to work under pressure on a range of competing challenges, self-motivation, and ability to work on own initiative.
- Confidence and professionalism with good interpersonal skills, high standards and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate to people at different levels of the business.
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Good IT proficiency, including use of Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

- High level understanding of radioactive waste management practice in the UK and the NDA estate.
