Nuclear Waste Services is looking for a Project Engineering Manager to join our busy team.

Our Nuclear Waste Services, Engineering Team is embedded within the Repository Asset Care Enhancement and Remediation Programme (RACER). We are responsible for reporting to the Lead Project Engineering Manager.

As part of this role, you will organise and coordinate multi-discipline design engineering teams. You will manage supply chain designers to deliver fit for purpose engineering solutions meeting project requirements. You will interface between Engineering and the Repository Asset Care Enhancement and Remediation Programme (RACER).

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Leading the development of the engineering Projects scope, schedule and budget to ensure RACER projects are delivered
  • Establishing status and performance of engineering work is accurately and timely reported and corrective/recovery actions are implemented
  • Ensuring all necessary documentation is generated to meet nuclear licensed site safety and legal requirements
  • Supporting the development of strategies and plans in line with the overall technical function of the project
  • Specifying, overseeing and reviewing engineering work performed by supply chain contractors ensuring approval within project scope
  • Accepting engineering work performed by supply chain organisations on behalf of RACER team
  • Taking account of the implications of our Environmental Safety Case on engineering and maintenance activities
Experience Required
  • Have experience managing risks within your scope of work in compliance with the company risk management procedures
  • Demonstrate experience in a relevant discipline in Engineering or equivalent appropriate professional qualification
  • Have experience serving in a multi-discipline design team with responsibility for the delivery of design engineering packages
  • Experience of working in project teams during multiple project phases with schedules and cost estimates
  • Be able to effectively manage supply chain contractors during design and execution phases
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to a wide range of audiences
  • Have experience of serving with an Intelligent Customer and Design Authority role
  • Display knowledge or experience of NEC 3/NEC 4 contracts
