Nuclear Waste Services has a vacancy for a Service Manager, flexible working with regular travel to its offices in Cumbria.
The purpose of the role is to lead on service and supply chain management across Waste Services’ portfolio of waste treatment, diversion, disposal and enabling services. This will include leading on the development of service strategies that are fully underpinned by current and future customer and business drivers, ensuring we deliver service excellence to our portfolio of customers by providing a customer-focused service. The Service Manager will also be responsible for maintaining the services, leading on supply chain engagement activities and developing and maintaining reporting metrics across the portfolio of services in line with the agreed strategies.
- Develop and maintain service strategies for the Waste Services portfolio of services that meet the current and future needs of both internal and external customers across the NDA estate, public and private sectors.
- Develop and implement Strategy Implementation plans across the portfolio of services, owning and delivering the recommendations and initiatives to optimise and enhance the services in line with the Strategy.
- Monitor overall supply chain delivery and performance ensuring that services are delivered in line with the agreed timescales, maintaining an overall picture of project status across the full portfolio of services and supporting the Delivery Team by leading on issue resolution and project close out.
- Work with the Delivery team to ensure that the status of each project is always up to date within the Customer Relationship Management system. Ensure that all supplier organisation records are maintained.
- Develop, monitor manage and own supply chain risk registers, ensuring mitigations are in place and risks are managed.
- Lead on Waste Services supply chain engagement, supporting routine supplier contract reviews and leading wider supply chain forums to maintain and enhance supplier relationship, keep abreast of supply chain developments, and ensure the supply chain is aligned to the service strategies.
- Work with the Customer Team Manager and support the established Customer Relationship Models to ensure that the pipeline of service demand is developed, regularly updated and communicated to our supply chain.
- Support the Commercial leads in supply chain negotiations and conflict resolution where required to ensure favourable outcomes for NWS and our Customers.
- Develop, maintain and monitor framework and service level KPIs to monitor supply chain performance, owning any corrective actions to maintain and improve performance where required.
- Deliver improvements in supplier delivery by developing and maintaining reporting metrics across the portfolio of services in line with the service strategies. Providing routine reports and data to inform department dashboards, wider NWS reporting requirements and initiatives and for use with external stakeholders
Essential
- Demonstrable experience in the development and delivery of service strategies built on customer and business drivers.
- Ability to develop strong collaborative relationships and to persuade and influence customers, suppliers and other stakeholders at all levels (internal and external) to develop mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Data driven and able to interpret management and business information and develop strategy, making evidence-based recommendations to improve internal business management and external service provision.
- Experience in the specification and management of high value contracts with the supply chain to deliver a wide range of services to a diverse portfolio of customers.
Desirable
- Recognised qualifications and/or equivalent experience in Business / Project / Change Management, Contract and Risk Management.
- Experience in the Nuclear Industry, in particular in the field of Radioactive Waste Management, Business Management, Contract Management and of the radioactive waste management supply chain.
- Understanding of the regulations governing public procurements within the UK.
- Experience of nuclear decommissioning and radioactive waste management challenges and be able to identify value adding solutions to Customers.
- Experience of the regulatory framework governing waste management activities in the UK and overseas.
