Welding Engineers support the Welding Managers, ensuring that all Welding and Welding Related matters are delivered to the highest standards.
The role includes particular requirements of the provision of a Nuclear Power Generating Facility, incorporating all applicable RCC-M specification requirements for materials and workmanship.
Roles and Responsibilities
- To ensure the development of welding processes and procedures that satisfy the requirements of the specification.
- To ensure that the most appropriate and suitable methods / processes are applied to ensure the expectation of right first-time quality outputs are delivered.
- To provide expert subject matter technical advice, comment and guidance on all Welding and Welding Related matters.
- To support the establishment, development, and execution of the Welding Strategy in support of the project requirements.
- To support the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT – e.g., RT, UT and VT) strategy, sometimes referred to as Non-Destructive Examination (NDE), to ensure safe and efficient analysis techniques are applied to evaluate the properties of welded joints.
- To act as an SME for Welding Related Matters for stakeholders including, but not limited to the Client, JV Nominated Suppliers, Strategic Suppliers and others.
- To support the governance and oversight of the implementation all welding processes and procedures to achieve the quality goals.
