Sellafield Ltd project manager wins national award

Kiara Orchard has been recognised at the prestigious Association of Project Management Awards.

A Sellafield Ltd assistant project manager, Kiara Orchard, was the winner of the Emerging Project Professional of the Year Award, at the 2024 Association of Project Management (APM) Awards.

Sellafield Ltd was also a finalist for 2 other awards:

  • The Substation 6 and 7 Replacement Project, shortlisted for Engineering, Construction and Infrastructure Project of the Year Award
  • The Programme and Project Partners (PPP), shortlisted for the Programme of the Year Award

These prestigious global awards celebrate project organisations, individuals and projects from across a broad range of sectors and their incredible achievements over the past year.

As the winner of the Emerging Project Professional award, Sellafield Ltd employee, Kiara was recognised for her passion, and engagement to the project management profession.

Her ability to work with, and influence a wide range of project teams, and customer stakeholders, alongside her focus on personal growth meant Kiara was a worthy winner.

She said: "I am absolutely delighted to have won this award, it is a huge achievement, I couldn’t have done it without the invaluable support from the managers, mentors and colleagues that have come along the journey since I started on site as a project management apprentice in 2019. Every project I have had the privilege to work on has been an opportunity for me to learn, grow and develop. I am so proud to have been recognised as Emerging Project Professional of the Year and it motivates me to continue striving for excellence and pushing myself further!"
