Nuclear Transport Solutions has a vacancy for a Asset Management System Configuration Lead to join the team at Cresty Bridge in Crewe.

As part of this role you will support the compliance and effectiveness of NTS Engineering asset management requirements by providing and leading the development of NTS Rail asset management system. Ensuring accurate data, reporting, integration, and analytics required to maintain a high performing, compliant and efficient rail fleet.

You will also support on a day-to-day basis, ensuring maximum system availability, compatibility and functionality. Additionally working closely and proactively engaging with relevant internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement effective change.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Active configuration and customisation of DRS’ asset management system in to meet the rail business requirements, including but not limited to creation of job plans and preventative maintenance schedules. 
  • Collaboration with stakeholders in order to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for system configuration. 
  • Perform audits to ensure correct use of the system and accurate data inputting and report on findings.  
  • Provide reporting from the data in the system as required by the business. 
  • Act as the asset management superuser for the business leading on continuous improvements, identifying, and providing opportunities for NTS to leverage unused configuration and functions within asset management system maximising the potential and benefit of the system. 
  • Creation and maintenance of component-level asset register within the system. 
  • Act as a single point conduit for all engineering users and other stakeholders to ensure continuity with vendor manager, supplier, and ICT on any and all system issues. 
  • Work with the engineering training manager to create and review system training material and assessments. Strengthening competence across all users of the system. 
  • Maintain the system document library. 
  • Support key engineering team members on 3rd party system audits. 
  • Develop and maintain system configurations and reports. 
  • Lead on system testing and validation to ensure configurations meet functional requirements and quality standards. 
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for system configuration-related issues. 
  • Lead on system integration with the ICT team to ensure full leverage of capability and integration with complimentary systems and applications. 
  • Document configuration changes, processes, and best practices for knowledge sharing and training purposes. 
  • As a member of the DRS Engineering team, attend appropriate meetings, working groups, committees, functional meetings, etc, to represent, participate, update and present.

Experience Required
  • Extensive experience of systems (with Asset management systems and Maximo experience being highly desirable)
  • Experience of developing system configurations and providing technical support to users
  • Ability to extract and manipulate multiple data sources / fields and report on outcomes.
  • Experience in planning and organising project and programme delivery.
  • Ability to use appropriate methods of communication at all levels within the business.
  • Demonstrate ability to comply with the Data Protection and information security policies.
  • Wide knowledge of systems relevant to engineering functions
  • Understanding of systems needs including data, security, set up
  • Knowledge of engineering and asset management function needs
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team as well as on own initiative.
  • Good oral, written and presentation skills with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with a wide range of audiences.
  • Effective interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Able to work to tight deadlines, providing excellent work in a pressurised environment.
  • Able to plan and organise self and others effectively.
  • Able to identify areas of opportunity and communicate recommendations.
  • IT Skills: Microsoft Office, Maximo or similar asset management system, Sage X3, and business systems.

  • Can work flexibly to meet deadlines.
