Nuclear Waste Services is looking to strengthen its maintenance team with an experienced electrician who can act as a E&I craftsperson to support Maintenance Delivery activities at the Low-Level Waste Repository site in Cumbria.

This opportunity offers the change to work alongside a multi-disciplined craft team, who have a vast amount of experience. Not only will you be joining an experienced, friendly team but Nuclear Waste Services will also offer you the opportunity for further training (Inspection and testing, High voltage training, E&I cross over training).

Roles and Responsibilities
  • To deliver the day to day LLWR maintenance activities in a safe and timely manner
  • Proactive support of LLWR safety culture, working to RSP 1.15 Electrical Safety Suite of Documents
  • Resolve problems associated with plant breakdowns and plant throughput
  • To provide support to LLWR engineers for implementing plant improvements and modifications
  • To proactively improve plant availability through continuous equipment monitoring, repair and maintenance
  • To be a Nominated Person (Electrical), NP (e), to provide Equipment Isolations
Experience Required

Essential

  • Time served fully qualified craftsperson that is capable of obtaining Nominated Person (Electrical) status
  • Educated to ONC/ HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering 
  • BS7671 IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Proven plant maintenance experience within both electrical and instrumentation fields and be familiar with relevant Safe System of Work Documentation e.g. ITC, WCA etc.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations and SSP/ RSP 1.15 Electrical Safety suite of documents.
  • Able to work effectively and flexibly as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated person, with a professional attitude, who must have commitment to achieving company values and goals.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate key information with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders
  • The applicant must have ability to work in the controlled areas using PVC and Respirator.

Desirable

  • City and Guilds 2391 Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations
