Nuclear Waste Services has a vacancy for a Facilities Management (FM) Technical Advisor on site at its repository in Cumbria.

The position of Facilities Management (FM) Technical Advisor acts as the first point of contact for all FM related queries, provides technical advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.

The FM Technical Advisor monitors the day to day delivery and performance of the FM Contractor (FMC) ensuring it meets the agreed service level, key performance indicators and budgetary requirements.

This role is within the FM & Estates team which covers the North of England NWS facilities.

This is a site-based role in Cumbria, therefore it is imperative that you can be site-based at least 4 days per week.

You will get to integrate across multiple areas of the business, mixing with a range of people and there is a variety of tasks to focus on.

This will be a great fit for you if you have any building or facilities management experience. You will either be degree level educated, or have the relevant demonstrable experience. Being proficient with spreadsheets, formulas and reporting will be important, coupled with building strong stakeholder relationships.

It's highly desirable that you come from a highly regulated background due to complexities within the nuclear industry.

 

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assurance monitoring of the day to day activities of the FM Contractor (FMC). The FM Contractor provides hard and soft services, which includes specialist PPM & Re-active maintenance, hard & soft landscaping, waste management, cleaning, manned guarding and minor tasks;
  • Ensuing all work carried out by the FMC is undertaken correctly, safely, securely and sustainably and in accordance with appropriate procedures and that all work is correct and accurately recorded;
  • Data analysis and management of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s);  This includes conducting audits on the operational delivery of the FMC;
    To act as the “go to” person and first point of contract for any FM queries;
  • To provide advice and guidance to internal customers on scoping of minor tasks undertaken by the FMC;
  • Produce, review and renew documentation relating to the FMC within the  NWS Management system, for example but limited to Risk Assessment, Method Statements, COSHH Assessments etc;
  • Attendance at various meetings in support of the work of the FMC, for example Stakeholders meetings, Site Integration meetings and various other in relation to the operation of the FMC;
  • Review and approve FMC payment application against the agreed FM service delivery plans;
  • Working closely with the Commercial team produce forecast and estimates for the FM & Estates area;
  • Proactively manage CMMS prompts and fast work orders within areas of accountability to ensure work is planned accordingly and start dates adhered to by the FMC, this includes proactively managing the FMC Work In Progress (WIP) list
  • Provide support to the FM & Estates Team Member for the desk booking system and FM Focus Meeting.
