The NDA Group has a vacancy for a Learning and Development Lead to join their busy team, hybrid working from one of their offices in Cumbria, Warrington, Harwell or London.
As a Learning and Development Lead, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and evaluating learning programs to enhance the professional growth and development of employees within the NDA. You will collaborate closely with all functions as well as the wider NDA group to identify training needs, develop tailored learning solutions, and foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development.
- Conduct thorough assessments of organisational training needs through surveys, interviews, and performance analysis.
- Collaborate with functional leads and HR Business Partners to identify skill gaps and training priorities.
- Through training providers, design and develop innovative learning programs, workshops, and training materials aligned with the NDA objectives and employee development needs.
- Use various instructional techniques and delivery methods, including e-learning platforms, instructor-led training, workshops, and simulations.
- Ensure training content is engaging, interactive, and effectively communicates learning objectives.
- Implement learning and development strategies that support organisational goals and employee career advancement.
- Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including scheduling, venue arrangement, and resource allocation.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives through feedback mechanisms and performance metrics.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in learning technology and instructional design.
- Leverage learning management systems (LMS) and other digital tools to deliver and track training programs efficiently.
- Provide technical support and training to employees on the use of learning platforms and digital resources.
- Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external training providers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of learning initiatives with business objectives and strategic priorities.
- Communicate regularly with management to provide updates on learning outcomes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure learning events are timely, focused, relevant and provide value for money.
- Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees about a range of L&D interventions to support delivery of departmental business plans and personal objectives.
- Lead on L&D projects and initiatives ensuring that implementation is achieved on time and in budget.
- Regularly review the induction activities for new employees to ensure it is up to date, welcoming and creates a great impression of the NDA.
- Work with subject matter experts across the NDA to ensure mandatory learning on the LMS is up to date and relevant.
- Assist in preparing and monitoring the L&D budget.
- Maintain relevant processes and policies, using a continuous improvement approach to deliver enhancements in the service offered.
- Communicate the L&D offer and events including updating the relevant areas of the NDA intranet pages to continually drive the L&D agenda.
- Ensure that learning evaluations are appropriately timed to measure quality of training and business impact. Responding to evaluation outcomes to improve services.
- Support HR Business Partner and Head of HR with L&D policy implementation and practical implementation of initiatives (e.g. D&I, OD, change, KPIs).
- Contribute to the commitment to provide Value for Money in all L&D activities.
- Contribute to the development and production of reporting data and metrics.
- Contribute to the development of any ONE NDA L&D projects or initiatives.
- Contribute to providing a great employee experience by ensuring all process and policies are in place to provide great L&D service delivery.
- Undertake any other duties requested consistent with the role of a Learning and Development Lead.

- Experienced of procuring training and managing external training providers.
- Experience in the scheduling and delivery of learning events or similar.
- Broad specialist knowledge of L&D best practice and trends or board HR experience.
- Experience of delivering small projects
- Ability to manage a variety of tasks and own workload.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear and concise instructions, and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Excellent listening skills with the ability to relate to all levels in an environment where the ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality is essential at all times.
- CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) or equivalent qualification in HR/Learning & Development is essential.
