We are talent sourcing for up and coming Quality Assurance Specialists for jobs in Nuclear Waste.

In these roles, you will deliver quality assurance activities as part of the integrated Assurance plan (working with a range of stakeholders including internal customers, suppliers and service providers).

You will also use quality assurance as a mechanism for strengthening compliance and driving improvements in quality management.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform audits and other quality assurance activities in line with the annual programme and direction of line manager.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, impartiality and integrity in all aspects of the role.
  • Plan, scope and conduct assigned audits in line with the agreed programme and business processes.
  • Provide high quality, timely and accurate reporting from assurance activities undertaken.
  • Input to the mechanism for recording, trending, and managing non-compliance issues including identification of root causes.
  • Offer support and guidance on the application of Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and process performance metrics (for both NWS and 3rd parties such as service providers and supply chain) in order to strengthen compliance and improve quality management.
  • Own your personal development to develop competencies across our assurance scopes and widen your knowledge of Quality Management
  • Contribute to business targets and improvement plans to build a value adding assurance service and promote continual improvement.
  • Be aware of and abide by the standards and expectations for your role and the risks associated.

Experience Required

Essential

  • Significant experience in assurance / auditing (ideally in a highly regulated environment)
  • Depth and breadth of experience communicating with a range of stakeholders (both internal and external)
  • Proficient in ISO 9001:2015 and its implementation
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Good interpersonal communications and influencing skills
  • Driving license / willing to travel
  • Internal Audit qualification

Desirable

  • Nuclear industry experience
  • Membership of a professional institute / industry body
  • A good working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and their implementation
  • Lead auditor qualification
  • Experience of working with external service providers and / or supply chain
