Working within the Commercial and Contract Management Team, the Senior Contract Manager role is primarily focussed on supporting the Head of Commercial Delivery in the delivery of services to NWS. Working alongside the Site Services and Programme Teams, you will be an integral part of the successful management of sub-contracted services that support the delivery of a range of services and programmes across NWS business.
The role will include the management of a small team to support procurement and contract management activities, particularly in the administration of contracts.
- Supporting the Head of Commercial Delivery – Site Operations and Programmes in the day to day management of a portfolio of contracts;
- Following the business processes that support the Contract Management Team as defined in the NWS Management System;
- Maintaining a network and awareness of suppliers and services in order to support the needs of the Site Services and Projects teams;
- Maintaining a knowledge base of contract terms and conditions to ensure that contract management can be delivered effectively;
- Development of contract strategy/procurement;
- Managing contract reviews; preparing regular management reports;
- Preparing estimates and cost plans;
- Involvement in the development of programmes for the delivery of our services;
- Preparation of standard documentation – reports, valuations, letters, financial statements etc.;
- Preparation and support tender documents as required by procurement including drafting of contract terms and conditions;
- Analysing tenders and preparing tender reports at all stages of procurement;
- Assessment of monthly applications for payment and prepare financial statements;
- Measuring performance against Key Performance Indicators and Incentivisation arrangements;
- Managing Sub-Contractor relationships as required to deliver the contract requirements;
- Settlement of contractual disputes;
- Preparing and agreeing final accounts;
- Producing lessons learnt report for post contract review;
- Managing change management process, early warnings, compensation events, PMI’s etc
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or MCIPS or a proven track record of relevant experience;
- Good understanding of contract preparation, procurement procedures and contract administration;
- Demonstrable ability to deal with people across a wide range of management levels and technical expertise;
- Proactive and self-motivated;
- Effective time management – efficient and adding value to projects;
- Excellent report writing skills;
- Experience of NEC3/4 contract management;
- Ability to prioritise and able to work under pressure;
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues;
- Technical awareness and able to work with some support to deliver all post contract service delivery and to solve problems;
- A high level of drive and energy to ensure that contracts are managed safely to cost and to schedule;
- Can demonstrate being a self-motivated team player and a good communicator;
