Nuclear Waste Services has a vacancy for a System Engineer with CE&I related experience to join our team at the repository in Cumbria.
As part of this role, you will develop and maintain expertise on assigned plant system(s) and/or area(s) and to use this knowledge to improve facility reliability and safety by ensuring the overall performance, safety, condition, and associated documentation of these assigned systems are maintained to a high standard. The System Engineer is a multi-disciplinary role and serves as the technical “owner” of their assigned systems. The successful candidate will primarily work on the site’s security, alarms, and communications systems. Therefore, a background in Control, Electrical, and Instrumentation (CE&I) would be advantageous, although it is not a requirement.

Essential
- A Higher National Diploma (HND) or an equivalent Level 5 qualification in an Engineering Discipline, or proven work experience demonstrating knowledge and skills at this level.
- Experience of working in a Multi-disciplinary role.
- Demonstrable experience in the production of technical reports, specifications and engineering documentation.
- Working knowledge and experience of Maintenance Strategy development principals and processes.
- Experience of analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience of assessing asset condition and performance
- An ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Desirable
- CE&I qualifications and/or experience in a CE&I related role.
- BEng degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification.
- Full Membership (IEng or CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institute.
- Previous experience of supporting project delivery.
- Experience of configuration baseline management.
- Previous Engineering experience in the nuclear industry.
