Nuclear Waste Services is looking for a GDF Requirements Manager (Process & Assurance) to join our busy team in Harwell, Oxfordshire. 

As GDF Requirements Manager for process and assurance you will be responsible for developing and supporting requirements, architectures and interfaces for the Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) Programme.

You will also be responsible for development and maintenance of the GDF Requirements Management Framework suite of processes and procedures and providing assurance of associated Systems Engineering products.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Developing and assuring implementation of Systems Engineering processes and procedures for requirements management, interface control, verification and validation (V&V), and acceptance.
  • Ensuring requirements management tools are developed to meet the evolving needs of the GDF Programme and assuring their correct operation and maintenance when in-service.
  • Facilitating System Requirement Reviews, ensuring all necessary records are captured and maintained. 
  • Supporting projects with the application of requirements management and systems engineering, including provision of training.     
  • Assuring the quality of GDF Sponsor’s and System Requirements.
Experience Required

Essential

  • Good first degree in an appropriate subject or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience of Systems Engineering (including requirements management) implementation in complex projects and programmes (ideally nuclear or infrastructure sectors). 
  • Good understanding of Systems Engineering processes and practices, as defined in ISO 15288 and INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook. 
  • Experience of process development, transformation and improvement (ideally in a Systems Engineering context).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, with the ability to present and explain technical and complex problems, tailored appropriately for the audience. 
  • A pragmatic, problem-solving approach, in particular the ability to identify the key issues and distinguish the essential from the ‘nice to have’.

Desired

  • Experience of working in a highly regulated industry, including intelligent customer and competency management.
  • Experience of delivering technical assurance activities within large, complex projects and programmes. 
  • Experience of working with a requirements management tool, preferably DOORS Next Generation. 
  • Chartered membership of an appropriate professional institute (e.g. INCOSE) or working towards.
